Commute from Logan Airport

🚌🚇 Getting from Logan Airport to Boston University (BU)

Start at Logan Airport (Terminal B/C):

Hop on the Silver Line (SL1) bus, which is free from the airport to South Station.

At South Station:

  • Switch to the Red Line (inbound).

  • Ride the Red Line to Park Street station.

At Park Street:

Transfer to the Green Line B Branch (heading towards Boston College).

Get off at one of the BU stops:

  • BU West

  • BU Central

  • BU East

Travel Time:

The whole trip takes about 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic and how long you wait for transfers.

Student Tip:

BU students can also hop on the BU Shuttle (The BUS), which runs along Commonwealth Ave and stops at BU West, Central, and East campuses.

2. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) 🚌🚇

Route Overview:

  • From Logan Airport to MIT:

    • Silver Line (SL1): Take the Silver Line from Logan Airport to South Station.

    • Red Line: At South Station, transfer to the Red Line outbound toward Alewife and get off at Kendall/MITStation.

3. Harvard University 🚌🚇

  • From Logan Airport to Harvard University (Cambridge Campus):

    • Silver Line (SL1): Start by taking the Silver Line from Logan Airport to South Station.

    • Red Line: From South Station, switch to the Red Line and take the train toward Alewife. Get off at Harvard Square.

Commute Duration:

  • Approximate travel time: 35-50 minutes.

  • The Harvard Shuttle offers free transportation across campus, and the M2 Shuttle connects Cambridge and the Longwood Medical Area (Harvard Medical School).

4. Northeastern University 🚌🚇

    • Silver Line (SL1): Take the Silver Line to South Station.

    • Orange Line: At South Station, transfer to the Orange Line and get off at Ruggles Station or Massachusetts Avenue.
